How It All Started

At the heart of Arsay is a story of serendipity, heritage, and the confluence of cultures.

In a serene French mountain village, an elderly Italian couple discovered a baby boy left on their porch. He had around his neck a small pendant with a carving of a woman, an odd but captivating detail. The man, a meticulous tailor, and his wife, a painter and an expressive pianist, found themselves charmed by the child. They named him Dali and raised him with love.

Dali's childhood was a mixture of simplicity and beauty. His days were filled with the rhythm of the tailor's needle and the melody of piano notes. Yet, when he was nine years old, life took a harsh turn as he lost both of his adoptive parents.

At eleven, Dali left his village home to navigate the bustling city life. Selling newspapers was his humble beginning, which eventually led him to the opulent city of Monte Carlo, Monaco. He found employment in a prestigious hotel, getting glimpses of a lavish lifestyle where he experienced the vibrancy of city life and the allure of luxury, .

His unassuming pendant, a silent companion through his journey, hung closely around his neck.

One day, while working at the hotel, a guest with a keen eye noticed the pendant. He informed Dali that the carved woman was Arsay, a revered Phoenician goddess, an embodiment of the earth and roots.

Struck by this revelation at the age of seventeen, Dali decided to explore his roots and found himself drawn towards Beirut, the city rich in Phoenician history and culture. The vibrant art scene and celebrated craftsmanship of Beirut felt familiar and invigorating.

Honoring the memory of his adoptive parents and inspired by his newfound connection to his heritage, Dali started his own lifestyle company. He named it Arsay, a nod to the goddess from his pendant and a symbol of the roots he had rediscovered. Through Arsay, Dali interwove his past and present, creating a beautiful blend of artisanal values and the rich cultural heritage of Beirut.

Here at Arsay, we strive to blend the traditional with the contemporary, crafting products that embody the elegance of Monaco's luxury, the simplicity of a French village, and the richness of Beirut's cultural heritage.
